Innobooster offers support for SMEs and promising start-up companies to realise innovative projects through development and market maturation.
The Innobooster programme is organised by Innovation Fund Denmark (Innovationsfonden), which overall aims to support the translation of innovative ideas into new solutions that contribute to development of knowledge and technology, including advanced technology, and in turn strengthen research and innovative solutions that benefit Danish growth and employment.
Innobooster offers opportunities for Danish SMEs wishing to develop and mature new products or services to improve a process that increases the company’s competitiveness and creates growth in Denmark.
Innobooster funds projects with grants between 200k and 5 million DKK at a subsidy rate of 35% and a project duration of maximum 2 years. Applying under 1 million DKK in funding allows the company to use de minimis, hence using 750 DKK / hour contrary to actual salary cost.
Projects may fall under one of the following three themes:
It is possible to submit proposals that do not fit within any of the specified themes, e.g. societal or humanities-related projects, but a justification for applying outside of the themes must be provided.
For a given project idea submitted to the Innobooster programme, applications need to demonstrate:
Furthermore, it is a requirement that the applying SME has attracted minimum 100k DKK in external capital in the 3 years preceding the application, or that the applying SME can present a gross profit of minimum 250k DKK published in one of the 3 preceding years’ fiscal report.
